Friends of Fugaise,

March 14, 2009 was Fugaise's last day of business. I truly appreciate all the generous support you have shown me and my staff over the past few years. It was extremely flattering that many of you wanted me to contact you when I knew what my next cooking venture was going to be, so here it is...

I am embarking on an adventure with Mr. John Rupp, owner of The University Club and W.A. Frost in St. Paul. I'll be working on two very exciting projects. The first is to run his unique island getaway in Wisconsin called Stout's Lodge. This is an existing property with a great reputation - it's a place where I have the opportunity to positively impact both the food and service. The second project will involve reopening a historic restaurant/bar in St. Paul later this year called The Commodore. I can't wait to start working on these projects!

I again want to express how thankful I am for all the support at Fugaise. It was a great 3 1/2 years but things move on. I hope when I see some of you at either one of these new places, you will find yourselves as excited as I will be to be there! I look forward to cooking for you again.

Sincerely,
Chef Don Saunders
